"Matinee To-Day" is the upcoming collaborative studio album by Blue Rodeo co-frontman Greg Keelor and multi-instrumentalist Jimmy Bowskill, scheduled for release on November 13, 2026. The album will be released via Keelor's independent imprint, Lost Cause Inc., in partnership with ADA and Warner Music Canada.
The record was birthed out of a late-night fireplace jam session where Keelor and Bowskill discovered their mutual, deep-rooted love for Bruce Cockburn’s 1920s-tinged folk masterpiece High Winds, White Sky.
Co-produced by Keelor, Bowskill, and their longtime collaborator James McKenty, the album was recorded live-off-the-floor at Lost Cause, Keelor’s rural farmhouse studio tucked into the rolling hills of the Ontario countryside. The project emphasizes an intimate, organic approach: two old friends tracking raw vocals and trading acoustic instrumentation live in a room without heavy production overlay. The track layout consists of 14 songs, featuring two original tracks penned by Keelor alongside a curated selection of country, folk, and traditional roots covers.
Track list:
- Willie’s Diamond Joe (Willie P. Bennett)
- Red Is The Rose (Traditional)
- Tomorrow Is A Long Time (Bob Dylan)
- Streets of Baltimore (Thomas P. Glaser / Harlan Howard)
- Palace of Gold (Keelor / Cuddy)
