July 12th 2024. Released here on 2LP vinyl for the first time and reissued on CD, The Best of Friends provides a perfect entry point for Hooker fans looking to explore his output in the 1980’s and 90’s.
Originally released in 1998, THE BEST OF FRIENDS celebrates JOHN LEE HOOKER’s late-career collaborations with a who’s-who of esteemed guests including Eric Clapton, Ry Cooder, Carlos Santana, Van Morrison and Bonnie Raitt. 25 years later, it remains a vivid portrait of Hooker’s vitality during this period and the unwavering respect of the musicians he influenced.
