(CD) Laveda - Love, Darla

This third album from the duo Ali Genevich and Jake Brooks marks their debut on the Bar/None Records label. Shifting from the dream-pop of their earlier work, Love, Darla explores a heavier, noise-rock sound inspired by their move from upstate New York to Brooklyn. The album was mixed by Martin Bisi, a producer known for his work with legendary alternative bands like Sonic Youth. 

The record creates a visceral soundscape that mirrors the "harsh noise and static of the sprawling cityscape" of New York. It captures the anxiety of living in a conflicted world and the search for things to love amid the chaos. The tracks blend elements of 80s punk and 90s grunge with a contemporary, shoegaze-influenced lens.
