Limited Edition CD

Drawing on aesthetics from experimental, ambient, rock, pop, and a range of improvised music(s) and participatory arts, LMNL is a performer-composer collective led by multi-instrumentalist Jerry Pergolesi. This recording was made in collaboration with multi-instrumentalist, composer, performer and educator Louise Campbell on clarinets and electronics.

The collective’s debut release, Rainbow, explores the profound cultural significance of the classic song "Over the Rainbow" and its enduring association with the iconic character Dorothy Gale from The Wizard of Oz. This post-modern deconstruction delves into the song's deeply resonant symbolism within the queer community. As performed by Judy Garland, "Over the Rainbow" has long been embraced as a poignant expression of defiance, vulnerability, longing, and the human desire to find one's true place in the world - themes that deeply resonate with the queer experience. Through Dorothy, the song becomes a vessel for the universal yearning to escape constraints and discover a utopian realm of belonging.
