Melodrama is the second studio album by New Zealand singer-songwriter Lorde, released on June 16, 2017, through Universal Music Group, Lava Records, and Republic Records.
Following the massive global success of her debut, Lorde co-produced the album alongside American musician Jack Antonoff, with additional contributions from Frank Dukes and Flume. The record marks a major sonic departure from the minimalist electronic textures of her debut, embracing a lush, cinematic art-pop soundscape filled with dramatic piano arrangements, striking synthesizers, and vivid vocal layers.
