Pure Heroine is the debut studio album by New Zealand singer-songwriter Lorde, released on September 27, 2013, through Universal Music Group, Lava Records, and Republic Records.
Written and produced primarily by Lorde (Ella Yelich-O'Connor) alongside collaborator Joel Little, the album was recorded in Auckland when she was just 16 years old. It is widely praised for reinventing the landscape of 2010s mainstream pop, shifting the genre away from high-energy electronic dance tracks toward a more minimalist, introspective aesthetic.
