(CD) Pet Shop Boys - A man from the future

A Man from the Future is the sixteenth studio album by the legendary English synth-pop duo Pet Shop Boys. Set for global release on Friday, October 9, 2026, through Parlophone and the band's own x2 imprint, the project serves as the duo’s very first official concept album.

A Man from the Future is an ambitious, seamless audio-musical biography documenting the brilliant, tragic life and lasting legacy of pioneering British mathematician, computer scientist, and WWII codebreaker Alan Turing. Developed in close collaboration with Turing’s definitive biographer, Professor Andrew Hodges, the music was originally commissioned and performed live with a full orchestra at the BBC Proms at the Royal Albert Hall in July 2014. 

 

Over a decade later, Neil Tennant and Chris Lowe have extensively revised, updated, and studio-recorded the work alongside composer Sven Helbig. The final studio version beautifully fuses the Pet Shop Boys’ trademark electronic textures and Neil's vocals with sweeping classical orchestrations. It features the Manchester Camerata Octet, the Manchester Grammar School Choir, and poignant spoken-word narration delivered by Olivier Award-winning actress Juliet Stevenson (pulled directly from Hodges' biography).
