The Tragically Hip – It’s A Good Life If You Don't Weaken (Original Cast Recording) covers the highly anticipated jukebox musical soundtrack, scheduled for global physical release on October 23, 2026, via Universal Music Canada.
It’s A Good Life If You Don't Weaken is a world-premiere theatrical production featuring a narrative co-written by Ahmed Moneka and Jesse LaVercombe set to the music of The Tragically Hip. Set in 2002, it follows an exiled journalist named Waleed in Canada who falls for local music store owner Kate.
The 16-song cast album is produced by Steve Berlin (who worked on Phantom Power and Music@Work), with executive production by Michael Rubinoff, orchestrations by Bob Foster, and mixing by Robert Orton. Recorded at The Bathouse and UMC’s 80A Studios, the project features surviving band members Rob Baker, Paul Langlois, and Gord Sinclair as guest musicians, alongside vocalists like Allison Russell.
