In The Hollow is the upcoming sophomore studio album by the Toronto-based art-punk quartet Bad Waitress. Scheduled for release on October 30, 2026, through Stomp Records, it marks the band’s first full-length record in five years following their 2021 debut, No Taste.
Self-produced by the band and recorded with engineer Josh Korody at Wychwood Sound in Toronto, In The Hollow takes Bad Waitress's volatile, aggressive punk sound into darker, stranger, and more inward territory. Born out of a period of personal and collective isolation, the album heavily explores the "messy part" of figuring out identity, relationships, and what to leave behind.
Musically, the 10-track collection retains their signature abrasive edge—drawing comparisons to the heavy post-punk pull of METZ and Fugazi, the grunge energy of L7, and the art-punk electricity of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs—while incorporating gnarled, splintered, and eerie atmospheres. The themes are previewed by the lead single "Loving Kind" (alternatively titled "Lovin' Kind"), which twists a typical love-song premise into a suspicious, push-and-pull anthem of resentment and vulnerability
