The self-titled album Bag People by the American band Bag People is a collection of previously unreleased post-punk/noise-rock tracks from the early 1980s New York City scene, finally released on March 28, 2025, by the label Drag City.
This album is a "time capsule" of the early 1980s NYC no-wave/post-punk scene, capturing the raw, unfettered energy of a band that never released a record during its short existence. The music has been described as a "righteous puke of art-punk" that stands tall next to the work of contemporaries like Sonic Youth and Swans. The tracks were sourced from long-lost practice and live cassette tapes discovered over 40 years after the band's 1984 breakup. The band's lineup notably included bassist Algis Kizys (of Swans) and guitarists Carolyn Master and Diane Wlezien (of Of Cabbages and Kings).
