Daybreaker is the third full-length studio album by English singer-songwriter Beth Orton, released in July 2002 through Heavenly Records in the UK and Astralwerks in the US.
Sitting at a creative crossroads, Daybreaker successfully bridges the electronic-tinged "folktronica" of her breakout debut Trailer Park with the acoustic, rootsy Americana of Central Reservation. The album marks a stylistic turn toward a more traditional, organic singer-songwriter approach, while simultaneously introducing a grander, cinematic streak—evident in the stately orchestrations of the opening track.
