Billy Strings' fifth full-length studio album of original material, titled So Much for Goodbyes, is scheduled for release on August 28, 2026 via Reprise Records.
Co-produced by Billy Strings alongside the legendary T Bone Burnett, the project is a deeply personal 16-track collection born out of immense grief. The album serves as a poignant tribute to Strings' late mother, Debra Apostol, who passed away unexpectedly in June 2025. To further honor her memory, the album's cover features her own original artwork, and the track list concludes with a dedicated instrumental finale titled "Debra's Waltz".
Musically, the record channels his heartbreak into a mature blend of folk, raw emotion, and his signature high-energy, dangerous bluegrass flatpicking. The lead single, "Burn the Other End" (co-written with Paul Hoffman of Greensky Bluegrass), was released alongside the album's announcement.
