Audiophile remastered reissue
Cal Tjader’s 1968 Latin-jazz masterpiece, The Prophet, is receiving a premium 180-gram vinyl reissue on June 19, 2026, as part of the audiophile Verve Vault Series.
Recorded in late 1967 and released the following year, The Prophet captures the legendary vibraphonist during an era of significant artistic expansion. Shifting toward a more textured, richly orchestrated studio palette, the album perfectly bridges Tjader’s signature mid-century Latin jazz foundation with late-1960s production aesthetics.
