Originally released in 1977, Pra Que Vou Recordar is a foundational work of the Black Rio movement, which blended North American soul and funk with Brazilian samba rhythms. Carlos Dafé, often called the "Prince of Soul" in Brazil, uses this album to showcase his smooth vocals, sophisticated arrangements, and poignant lyrics that reflect the urban Afro-Brazilian experience of the late 1970s.
