Former RSD Ambassador and hip-hop legend Chuck D (Public Enemy) joins forces with The Doors' iconic drummer John Densmore for "do+pe = no country for old men". Recorded specifically for and released on Record Store Day 2026, the album blends spoken word, rhythm, and raw social commentary, bridging generations of rebellion and reflection. It includes the RSD Song of the Year "every tick tick tick". Previously an RSD exclusive, it will now be widely available in multiple formats. The packaging features original illustrations from Chuck D himself.
The album is a stark, avant-garde fusion of conscious hip-hop, classic rock pulse, spoken word poetry, and heavy jazz rhythms. Rather than standard rap tracks, the layout leans heavily on a minimalist "beats and rhymes" approach where Densmore provides live, organic drum grooves and soundscapes over which Chuck D delivers his trademark booming social commentary.
