Artillery From Heaven is the debut full-length studio album by Tampa, Florida-based metallic hardcore band Contention, released on May 3, 2024, through DAZE Records. Spanning 10 tracks in a blistering 21 minutes, the record cemented the band's status as a powerhouse in the modern straight edge "edge metal" resurgence.
Contention balances brutal, modern metallic hardcore with heavy inspiration from late '90s/early 2000s European and American edge metal. They heavily pull from the sonic blueprints of bands like Arkangel, Undying, Reprisal, and Prayer for Cleansing.
