Dummy’s Mandatory Enjoyment and Free Energy now back in print on new vinyl colors to commemorate the band’s signing to Polyvinyl. Dummy is a rock band from Los Angeles comprised of Alex Ewell, Emma Maatman, Nathan O’Dell, and Joe Trainor. Their debut full length Mandatory Enjoyment (Trouble in Mind) arrived in late 2021, becoming one of the year’s sleeper hits and garnering praise from Pitchfork, Stereogum, and more. Their exhilarating follow-up album, Free Energy, was released in 2024 and led to further critical acclaim and more touring through the US and Europe.
