The supergroup Electronic, featuring Bernard Sumner (New Order) and Johnny Marr (The Smiths), released their second album, Raise the Pressure, in 1996. Following the closure of their previous label, Factory Records, the album was released through Parlophone. It is noted for its polished sound, which saw the duo further explore a blend of alternative dance, synth-pop, and electronic textures with more rock-oriented songs.
