The Verve Acoustic Sounds Series audiophile reissue of Elvin Jones’s landmark 1965 album Dear John C. is scheduled for release on August 28, 2026.
Originally recorded at Rudy Van Gelder’s studio for Impulse! Records, this record marked the legendary drummer's first session as a leader for the label after spending years defining the polyrhythmic backbone of the John Coltrane Quartet. The title track serves as a direct, heartfelt tribute to Coltrane.
