Decay is the upcoming tenth studio album by English industrial metal pioneers Godflesh. The album serves as the band's penultimate studio record and marks the end of their live touring career due to frontman Justin Broadrick's severe health complications from an inguinal hernia. Musically, Decay was born from the same writing sessions as their 2023 album Purge, utilizing a bolder, bleaker, and heavier tone. The record was mixed post-surgery while Broadrick was in intense physical discomfort, translating that visceral pain directly into the music. Critics and early reviews compare the lurching, guttural groove of the lead single, "Living/Ending," to the band's landmark 1989 debut, Streetcleaner.
