Released in 2016, Gregory Alan Isakov with the Colorado Symphony is a collaborative record that reimagines songs from Isakov’s previous three studio albums—The Weatherman, This Empty Northern Hemisphere, and That Sea, the Gambler.
The album features orchestral arrangements by Tom Hagerman (of DeVotchKa) and Jay Clifford (of Jump, Little Children), performed by nearly 70 classical musicians conducted by Scott O’Neil. Critics describe the record as a "lush and revelatory" expansion of Isakov's work, blending his signature chamber folk and indie sensibilities with sweeping symphonic textures that enhance rather than overpower his characteristically subtle vocals.
