Hannah Lew’s self-titled solo debut is a towering, hook-filled pop record steeped in girl-group shimmer and post-punk edge. Recorded at home in Richmond, CA and at The Best House in Oakland with Maryam Qudus, the album marks Lew stepping out from her work in Grass Widow and Cold Beat into bold, direct pop territory. Mastered by Sarah Register, each song balances melancholy and optimism, pulling the heart in two directions at once.

Guided by dreams, free association, and surrealist influence, the record explores change, breakups, and fractured renewal — what Lew calls “a wartime album.” Sweeping synths and propulsive drum machines carry emotionally resonant tracks like “Another Twilight,” “Damaged Melody,” and “Replica,” where shimmering melodies mask heartbreak and global unease.

Instinctual and dreamlike, Hannah Lew blends subconscious songwriting with sharp pop precision — an album where every song feels like a single, shimmering with grief, love, and defiant optimism.
