Best known as the frontman of the influential indie rock trio Dinosaur Jr., J Mascis has also been a solo artist, producer, and film composer. Getting his start as a founding member of the hardcore band Deep Wound, Dinosaur Jr. Was founded in 1984 and the group emerged among the most highly regarded in alternative rock.
Originally released in October 2000, More Light is the debut studio album by J Mascis (of Dinosaur Jr.) under the moniker J Mascis + The Fog. The record is considered a solo album of sorts, as Mascis produced it and played nearly all the instruments. It is noted for reintroducing the high-volume guitar "attack" that influenced the 90s grunge movement.
