The Airplane Mode is the eighth studio album by English singer-songwriter James Blunt. Set for release on November 6, 2026, via Atlantic Records, the 12-track record follows his 2023 album Who We Used To Be and has been described by Blunt as his strongest work in 20 years.
Recorded primarily at Pig Music Studios in Oxfordshire and a studio in Banbury, the album sonically reconnects with the warm, acoustic-pop sounds of the late 1990s and 2000s. Blunt has noted taking inspiration from foundational influences like David Gray, Coldplay, and The Verve, creating a live-sounding record that captures his signature anthemic hooks and nostalgic storytelling. Preceded by singles like "Tastes Like Summer" and "Weight of It All", the record delivers the emotional resonance of his earlier work while continuing his contemporary pop evolution.
