The Gem is the fourth studio album by Australian indie-pop singer-songwriter Julia Jacklin, officially scheduled for release on September 25, 2026, via her new label, 4AD. Following up on 2022's Pre Pleasure, the record's concept explores the lifelong tension between the desire to love and be loved versus the inherent need to remain entirely free. The title serves as a metaphor for creative excavation and is named after a back-street bar and live music venue in Collingwood, Melbourne, where Jacklin and her band recorded the album in a hotel room-turned-studio directly above the bar.
