Half-speed master, reissue
The special audiophile reissue of Katatonia - Viva Emptiness (Half-Speed Master) was released on August 15, 2025 by Peaceville Records.
Unlike the 10th-anniversary release which featured a completely altered remix and updated keyboard arrangements, this specific edition utilizes the original 2003 audio mix. It was treated to a precision half-speed mastering process at the legendary Abbey Road Studios in London to optimize dynamic range and audio fidelity on vinyl. The packaging preserves the original dark artwork created by Travis Smith.
