Blue Note Classic Vinyl Edition of Kenny Dorham’s 1961 hard bop album, Whistle Stop. This all-analog 180g vinyl reissue was mastered by Kevin Gray from the original master tapes.
Recorded in January 1961, Whistle Stop features an elite hard bop quintet led by trumpeter Kenny Dorham. The album is composed entirely of Dorham’s original music, ranging from the high-energy "Philly Twist" to the more atmospheric "Sunrise in Mexico". The lineup includes:
