The 2026 David Singleton Elemental Mixes Version of Islands is an alternative studio reinterpretation of King Crimson’s classic 1971 fourth album, scheduled for release on September 25, 2026, through Panegyric Records. Curated by longtime King Crimson producer David Singleton as part of the band's 50th-anniversary archival series, the "Elemental Mix" draws from the full spectrum of original multi-track session tapes. Rather than acting as a standard remaster, it presents raw, unadorned performances, alternate takes, and hidden instrumental layers (such as a piano fantasia intro by guest Keith Tippett). It serves as a stark companion piece to the original record, spotlighting the brief but fertile era of the band's second live lineup.
