Tails is the gold-certified debut studio album by Lisa Loeb & Nine Stories, originally released on September 26, 1995, by Geffen Records. It serves as a definitive alternative rock and acoustic pop touchstone of the mid-1990s
The album was propelled to massive success by its iconic closing track, "Stay (I Missed You)". The song originally anchored the soundtrack to the 1994 film Reality Bites. It made history when Lisa Loeb became the first unsigned artist to top the Billboard Hot 100 chart. Following a fierce major-label bidding war, Loeb signed with Geffen and released Tails, which peaked at number 30 on the Billboard 200.
