Marcos Valle (1970) showcases the artist's multi-talented approach, blending bossa jazz, samba, psych-folk, and soul. It was a transitional album for Valle, who was entering a new, more experimental phase of his career. The record explores a range of musical styles, including samba, bossa nova, and baião, while incorporating influences from black American music and rock. The lyrics often contained subtle, socially aware messages that tested the limits of government censors in Brazil, which was under military rule at the time.
