Moon Apple is an emerging electronic artist based in Montréal. Her name reflects the blend of ethereal and organic elements in her music, mirroring the paradoxical cosmic themes she explores. With a fresh approach to mixing electronica, ambient, IDM and avant-pop elements, she crafts immersive experiences by improvising alongside sampled instruments, to be reimagined by creative circuitry.
A series of sonic séances that is inspired by the Four Pillars of Destiny. Astrological animals are summoned to explore themes of fatalism/agency: that is, autonomy, anxiety, adaptability, and action. Ancient instruments, like the kendang and moktak, were recorded and reimagined to produce ritualistic rhythms and tribal soundscapes for a modern era - all in an effort to partly lash out and partly let go.
Four Pillars was premiered at the opening of MUTEK Montréal 2023 and features multi-faceted poets Dédé Chen and Ahreum Lee.
