Originally released in 1966, The Soul Album is the fourth studio album by Otis Redding, widely considered one of his most consistent and "gritty" studio efforts. Recorded with the legendary Stax house band (Booker T. & the M.G.'s and the Mar-Keys), the record perfectly captures the raw, driving energy of the Memphis soul sound
