Originally released in 1998, Aquemini is the third studio album from the legendary Atlanta duo Big Boi and André 3000. Widely heralded as one of the greatest hip-hop albums of all time, the record marked a massive sonic evolution as OutKast stepped away from the spacey, minimalist production of ATLiens to embrace live instrumentation.
The album masterfully blends traditional hip-hop with 1970s funk, deep Southern soul, gospel, country, and psychedelic rock. Lyrically, the two MCs operate at the absolute peak of their storytelling powers, navigating conscious, introspective, and cosmic themes.
