Red & Ghostly Clear 30th Anniversary Vinyl Reissue
Mantra (30th Anniversary Edition) is a definitive reissue of the 1995 masterpiece by Shelter, the band that famously fused New York Hardcore with Krishna consciousness (Hare Krishna). This edition marks three decades since Ray Cappo and Porcell (John Porcelly) transitioned from the raw aggression of Youth of Today to a more melodic, commercially successful sound. Produced by Dave Jerden (Alice in Chains, Jane’s Addiction), Mantra moved away from the chaotic speed of 80s hardcore toward a polished, anthemic "pop-core" style. It features soaring choruses, metallic riffs, and lyrics focused on spiritual awakening and social critique. The reissue, handled by Smartpunk Records, includes restored audio for vinyl and a revamped gatefold jacket with updated artwork and archival photos.
