Originally self-released digitally on Bandcamp in 2016, For Young Hearts served as a critical foundational project that put Soccer Mommy on the map before she signed with a major indie label. The debut mini-album by American indie rock singer-songwriter Soccer Mommy (Sophie Allison) being reissue on physical format on June 19, 2026, through Fat Possum Records.
The album is a quintessential example of lo-fi bedroom pop and indie rock, featuring raw, unpolished electric guitar melodies and soft, intimate vocals. Lyrically, the album explores highly relatable themes of teenage angst, unrequited high school crushes, nostalgia, and the melancholy of growing up.
