Other Worlds and Habitats by the UK band The Sorcerers. It was released on ATA Records in 2025.
The Sorcerers' fourth album sees the band diving deeper into their signature Ethio-jazz roots while also exploring new sonic territory. The band, now a trio of bassist Neil Innes, drummer Joost Hendrickx, and Richard Ormrod on reeds, flute, and vibraphone, blends analogue recording warmth with space-age instrumentation. Influences from artists like Hailu Mergia and William Onyeabor are present, but the sound is more organic and less cerebral than in their previous work, enriched by their first live touring experience.
