Static is the debut studio album by Montreal-based garage punk rock band Taxi Girls, scheduled for official release on June 26, 2026, through Stomp Records.
Formed in 2022, the all-female quartet blends raw garage punk economy with heavy rock 'n' roll swagger. Dual vocalists Jamie Radu and Vera trade sharp lines over blown-out guitar distortion, channeling influences like Bikini Kill, The Donnas, and Joan Jett. Lyrically, Static tackles raw themes of feminism, body positivity, mental health, postpartum depression, and everyday human resilience with infectious energy. Having shared stages with notable acts like NOFX, Billy Talent, and The Hives, the band's first full-length effort captures a gritty, modern underground Montreal sound.
