Limited half-speed Remaster
This limited-edition 1LP reissue has been meticulously engineered for the highest possible audio fidelity: The Mastering Process: The album features an expert remaster by Jon Astley and was cut at half-speed by Miles Showell at Abbey Road Studios.
Originally released in September 1989, The Seeds of Love is the highly acclaimed third studio album from Tears For Fears. Moving away from the synth-heavy textures of their previous global smash Songs from the Big Chair, Roland Orzabal and Curt Smith pivoted toward a lush, organic, and hand-crafted studio sound heavily infused with jazz, soul, and psychedelic rock. It is widely celebrated as one of the defining, most production-heavy pop masterpieces of the late 1980s.
The album was a massive commercial and critical triumph, debuting at No. 1 on the UK Albums Chart and reaching No. 8 on the US Billboard 200, quickly achieving Platinum certification on both sides of the Atlantic.
Track list:
Side One:
- "Woman In Chains" (featuring the powerful, soulful vocals of Oleta Adams and drums by Phil Collins)
- "Badman's Song"
- "Sowing The Seeds Of Love" (the explosive, Beatlesque psychedelic anthem)
- "Advice For The Young At Heart"
Side Two:
- "Standing On The Corner Of The Third World"
- "Swords And Knives"
- "Year Of The Knife"
- "Famous Last Words"
