Limited Reissue on Turquoise Vinyl
50th anniversary vinyl reissue of Tom Waits' 1976 album "Small Change", pressed on limited edition 180g turquoise vinyl.
"Small Change" is considered the high watermark of Waits' early period, its success prompting him to put together a touring band. Songs like "Tom Traubert's Blues", "Step Right Up", and "The Piano Has Been Drinking (Not Me)" drew on the great American songbook, beat poetry, and the low-lit storytelling Waits had been collecting across his three previous albums. Classic jazz, Tin Pan Alley, and Stephen Foster filtered through Tom's unique worldview and lyrical genius. Recorded with a live orchestra and featuring jazz legend Shelly Manne on drums, "Small Change" is a classic and stands as one of Waits' most popular recordings.
