The score blends traditional Japanese textures with sweeping, dramatic cinematic Western orchestral elements to capture the rugged atmosphere of the 1600s northern frontier. The tracks evoke the cold, wild, and icy landscapes of Ezo (modern-day Hokkaido) while mirroring the protagonist Atsu's narrative of honor and revenge. The score includes vocal and instrumental contributions from featured co-composers, including Clare Uchima on "Atsu's Theme" and "Mother's Song," and Justin Johnson on "The Call of Revenge".
