Party Time was recorded live and is described as the band's most organic work to date, capturing their authentic comradery and "unabashed punk music". Lyrically, the album features "heart-wrenching tales of deceit, addiction and disbelief" alongside "sordid humor and charismatic storytelling". It was recorded in Montreal with producers Felix Belisle and Samuel Gemme at Gamma Recording Studio.
