The 2026 remastered reissue of Mikkou, the second studio album by Japanese singer-songwriter Yoshiko Sai. Originally released in 1976, this reissue is part of a series by the Wewantsounds label.
Mikkou is a definitive cult classic of the 1970s Japanese underground scene. Produced by Isamu Haruna, the album blends blues, jazz, and folk with a distinctive "Silk Road" influence, incorporating instruments like the tabla, sitar, and dulcimer. It features the complex, funky arrangements of legendary guitarist Masayoshi Takanaka, providing a lush backdrop for Sai's ethereal and "dreamy" vocals. This 2026 edition marks one of the first times the album has been widely available on CD outside of Japan
