Originally issued without a title, it became known by its most popular song and title track. Released when Hardy was 18, the album combines elements of yé-yé, rockabilly, folk, jazz, and blues. The album was a commercial success and established Hardy's unique sound, which set her apart from her peers with its contemplative and melancholic lyrics
