September 9 street date. London-based duo Jockstrap (Georgia Ellery and Taylor Skye) present their debut full-length record "I Love You Jennifer B". It's "a collection of tracks that have been 3 years in the making. Everything on it is pretty singular sounding so we hope there is a track on there for everyone and something that speaks to you and says ‘I'm a banger’", Skye adds. Jockstrap formed in 2017 after Georgia (also of Black Country, New Road) met Taylor at the Guildhall School Of Music & Drama where they were studying jazz and electronic composition respectively.
Generally speaking their modus operandi has been to produce a spatially and temporally disrupted form of pop music, gleefully breaking apart existing styles only to expertly reassemble them, and at other times mint entirely fresh genres. The process and result has one definition: pure modern pop alchemy. With their debut 10-track album, "I Love You Jennifer B", they've cemented themselves as one of the most vital young groups to emerge from London's melting pot of musical cultures in years. On their first North American tour this fall, Jockstrap are slated to play Montreal, Toronto and Vancouver on Nov 24th, Nov 25th, and Dec 1st respectively.
