The Cult's ninth studio album, Choice of Weapon, released in 2012, is a hard-hitting rock album that features a return to the band's heavier, more visceral sound. The album, which was co-produced by Chris Goss and long-time Cult collaborator Bob Rock, is a blend of hard rock, psychedelia, and punk influences. Lyrically, the album explores themes of love, revolt, and redemption while addressing sociopolitical topics like environmental concerns and materialism.
