"Self Evident Truth" is the debut EP by the Baltimore hardcore outfit The S.E.T. Formed in early 2024, the group originally featured Brady Ebert (formerly of Turnstile), bassist Che Figueroa (founder of Flatspot Records), and drummer Ryan Fauver (formerly of End It). Vocalist Timothee Buangala joined after being spotted at the Disturbin' The Peace Festival. The EP clocks in at roughly 15 minutes and is described as "unapologetic hardcore" blending Baltimore groove with New York crossover influences like Leeway and Judge. The project's title and lyrics draw from the Declaration of Independence, specifically the "self-evident truths" of equality and the pursuit of happiness. The band intended the release to define their beliefs in the face of what they describe as modern "propaganda and authoritarian ideas".
