Released on February 27, 2026, The Mountain (stylized as पर्वत) is the ninth studio album by Gorillaz. Produced by Damon Albarn alongside Remi Kabaka Jr., James Ford, and Samuel Egglenton, the record marks the band's first independent release under their own label.
Inspired by Albarn and Jamie Hewlett’s travels in India, the album is a conceptual exploration of life, death, and the afterlife. It serves as a "paradigm shift" for the band, blending their signature art-rock and synth-pop with Hindustani classical music and "raga rock." Notably, the album features posthumous contributions from several past collaborators—referred to as "voices from the next place"—to help articulate its themes of loss and reincarnation.
The 15-track album features numerous guests and is known for its collaborative nature. Key collaborations on The Mountain include artists such as Dennis Hopper, Anoushka Shankar, and IDLES. The album also features contributions from artists like Black Thought and Johnny Marr.
